Description

Aortha Orthotic Transfer Papers from Algeos are most commonly used to create a colourful and creative finish to orthotic appliances.

The papers will transfer to most thermoplastic materials. The heating process will intensify the pattern of your paper giving you a deep and lasting colour. This quick and easy method of colouring will keep the surface homogeneous and resistant to scuffing, and the lively designs make them ideal for paediatric appliances.

Application Guide
  1. Cut a template from your thermoplastic material.
  2. Cut a piece of transfer paper a few millimetres smaller than the template, ensuring the colour will not touch the heating plate.
  3. Put your thermoplastic template into the heating oven and let the material progress to its operating temperature.
  4. When the temperature has been reached, lay the transfer paper with the design facing down onto the material. Protective gloves should be worn and minimal pressure applied. Smooth the transfer paper to avoid bubbles and wrinkles. This process can be done with a cloth and normally lasts 15 to 20 seconds.
  5. Leave the lid of the heating plate or oven door open. The actual colouring process takes place at a temperature of 170°C - 220°C (best at 210°C).
  6. After 15 - 45 seconds, the paper can be removed. If necessary, close the oven or heating plate again to reach the optimal processing temperature. You can now continue deep drawing as usual.
Caution:
Transfers may bleed and rub off onto fabrics or skin when handled. Transfer illustrations and colour tones may differ once used. Thermoplastic material, temperature and processing method can intensify or lighten transfer paper.
