Cautions

  • Use should be supervised by a physician or healthcare specialist who can advise on frequency and duration.
  • Discontinue use and seek medical assistance if experiencing tingling, burning, numbness, pain, swelling, or skin irritation.
  • WARNING: Do not walk or stand while wearing the night splint.

Night Splint Use Instructions

  1. Use a gradual break-in schedule unless otherwise instructed.
  2. Unfasten straps, place foot in splint, and position heel at the back. Toes should not extend past the end.
  3. Bend knee and flex foot upward to achieve desired dorsiflexion (approx. 90°).
  4. Start with 3 hours wear time, increasing gradually as tolerated. Inspect skin after removal.
  5. Fasten calf, ankle, and foot straps for comfort—not tightness. Avoid over-tightening.
  6. Always wear with a sock that extends past the top of the orthosis.
  7. Remove splint before walking. Clean with mild soapy water and dry thoroughly before reuse.
  8. Do not use heat sources to dry. Reapply properly with all straps secured snugly.
  9. Inspect daily for wear or damage and contact your provider if needed.
